How do I choose the right bracketry for an electrical installation?
When you’ve designed your cable pathways within the facility, you will have a clear idea of the surfaces and beams which will support your system. Consider the total distance covered and ensure you have appropriate brackets and fixings at regular intervals.
You should also consider the potential weight the installation will need to bear, and how you will manage this. Choose the strongest possible brackets for each support.
Consider your wall material. Is it suitable for screws? Older plasterboard may need specialised wall plugs.
If you will be fixing your cable trays and ladders to beams, consider the appropriate type of beam clamp. We stock ‘U’ bolt beam clamps to secure fixtures to square profiles, as well as internal beam clamps to secure channels within ‘I’ beams.
It’s also important to have strong connections between channel sections, with flat plates and ‘D’ Tie brackets providing additional rigidity.
